Early departure from Salta City to Jujuy province, arriving to the Quebrada de Humahuaca, declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Arrival to Purmamarca, known for its seven colour hill. Hotel night in Purmamarca.
Departure in the morning for El Moreno, across the Cuesta del Lipan, visiting Salinas Grandes. Arrival to El Moreno (12467 ft) Camping Night.
Light trekking to get acclimatized. Camping for the night at El Moreno.
Breakfast. Early morning start by car to Campo Mina (14042 ft) then the trekking to 'El Diablo' Shelter. Camping Night.
Attempt at reaching the summit of Chañi ( 19 344 ft / 5 896 msl). After reaching the summit, the descent to Campo Mina starts. Transfer by vehicle to El Moreno. Camp for the night.
Transfer to Salta on the national Route 40. Continue to San Antonio de los Cobres, a typical town of the puna salteña. Lunch. Trip continues on Route 51, entering the Quebrada del Toro parallel to the famous Tren de las Nubes (Train to the Clouds). Arrival in Salta. Hotel for the night.
