TOLAR GRANDE - SALTA

Option 1: Tolar Grande Regular

Duration: 03 days/ 02 nights
Departure: Salta City

Route: Salta / San Antonio de los Cobres / Tolar Grande / Cueva del Hombre Muerto, Salar de Arizaro / Cono de Arita / Médano y Ojo de Mar / Santa Rosa de los Pastos Grandes / Salta.

Day 1: Salta, San Antonio de los Cobres, Tolar Grande. We depart from Salta to San Antonio de los Cobres (10991 ft.). We cross the ‘Quebrada del Toro’, this is a parallel route of the famous Train to the Clouds railways. Then we cross through ‘Abra Blanca’ (the highest point at 13386 ft.) where we have the first view of the ‘Puna’. We arrived to San Antonio de los Cobres. Then continue to Tolar Grande (12140 ft). We cross ‘El Laberinto’ desert. Arrival to Tolar Grande. Night at Franco Argentino shelter.
Day 2: Visit a Dead Man's Cave, Arizaro Salt Flat, Arita Cone, Dunes and Ojo de Mar. During the day we will visit the caves with various figures in the stalactites and stalagmites, the Dune of considerable size and beauty, and the Arizaro Salt Flat, impressive for its magnitude, is one of the world's largest salt flats. Within the salt flat is the Arita Cone a mountain with a perfect cone shape. In the afternoon visit to the ‘Ojo de Mar’, strange deep pools made by the action of water that descend from the Macon mountain. Night at Franco Argentino shelter.
Day 3: Tolar Grande, Santa Rosa de los Pastos Grandes, Salta. Early in the morning we will take the spectacular mountain road where we will see the different hills and snowy mountains, highlighting the Quewa mountain, which exceeds 19685 ft. (near the summit it was found an Inca mummy). We will also cross some typical villages with their troops of llamas, guanacos and vicuñas. Arrival to Salta city. END OF OUR SERVICES

Option 2: Tolar Grande and Mina Casualidad

Duration: 03 days / 02 nights

Day 1: Salta, San Antonio de los Cobres, Tolar Grande. We depart from Salta to San Antonio de los Cobres (10991 ft.). Day 2: Visit Chance Mina (Mina Julia). We departure early in the morning to ‘La Casualidad’ Mine crossing the Arizaro Salt flat, the third largest salt flat in the world. Previous to this we will visit the Caipe Railway Station. Along an asphalt road we arrived at ‘La Casualidad’ Mine. This was the most important sulfur mine until it was closed in 1978. It is located in the Andes, near the international border with Chile and the boundary of the province of Catamarca. We will visit the abandoned buildings and then returned in the afternoon to Tolar Grande. Night at Franco Argentino shelter.

Duration: 04 days / 03 night
Departure: City Salta
Ends: City Salta
Season: All year
Route: Salta /San Antonio de los Cobres /Tolar Grande / Regreso a San Antonio de los Cobres / Salinas Grandes / Purmamarca / Salta.
Día 1: Salta, San Antonio de los Cobres, Tolar Grande. Partimos de Salta hacia San Antonio de los Cobres (3.350 msnm). Atravesamos la Quebrada del Toro, ruta paralela a las vías del famoso Tren a las Nubes. Luego cruzamos el primer paso Andino, "Abra Blanca" (4.080 msnm) donde tenemos la primera visión de la Puna. Arribamos a San Antonio de los Cobres. Luego continuamos a Tolar Grande (3.700 msnm). Atravesamos el llamado Desierto del Laberinto. Arribo a Tolar Grande. Noche en Refugio Franco Argentino.
Día 2: Visita a Cuevas del Hombre Muerto, Salar de Arizaro, Cono de Arita, Médano y Ojo de Mar. Durante el día visitamos las cuevas con distintas figuras en las estalactitas y estalagmitas que se conforman en su interior por filtraciones acuosas que las modelan a través de los años; el Médano de considerable envergadura y belleza; y el Salar de Arizaro, impresionante por su dimensión, es uno de los salares más extensos del mundo. Dentro del salar se encuentra el Cono de Arita curiosa estructura montañosa por su perfecta formación cónica, resultando notoria por encontrarse a la vera del Salar de Arizaro. Por la tarde visita al Ojo de Mar, extraños piletones profundos que se forman en el salar por la acción del agua que desciende de la serranía del Macon. Noche en Refugio Franco Argentino.
Día 3: Tolar Grande, San Antonio de los Cobres, Salinas Grandes, Purmamarca. Retornamos por la mañana por el espectacular camino de montaña en el que se observan distintos cerros y cordones nevados. Almuerzo en San Antonio de los Cobres y luego continuamos camino por la Ruta Nacional N° 40 en dirección a la Salinas Grandes. Breve parada para observar el trabajo de la sal y sus artesanos. Retomamos la ruta y bajamos a Purmamarca por la inolvidable Cuesta de Lipán. Noche en Purmamarca.
Día 4: Purmamarca, Quebrada de Humahuaca, Salta. Desayuno y tiempo libre para disfrutar de Purmamarca. El cerro de los 7 colores, mercado de los artesanos, su plaza e Iglesia. Al medio día salida hacia la Humahuaca atravesando la Quebrada homónima, declarada Patrimonio Natural y Cultural de la Humanidad. Arribamos a la localidad de Humahuaca. Almuerzo y regreso a Salta previa visita por la Iglesia de Uquía, Tilcara, Tumbaya y Volcán. Arribo a la ciudad de Salta. Fin de los Servicios.
