Duration: 8 days / 7 nights

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco.

City Tour in the afternoon. Reception at the Velasco Astete International airport of Cusco and transfer to your hotel, where you wait with an aromatic coca tea to help you avoid altitude sickness. Once in the hotel, you will have the entire morning free. Between 1:45 and 2:00 pm the guided city tour will begin, where you will have the opportunity to visit 6 important sites of Cusco. First, "Qoricancha" (Temple of Gold), now the Convent of Santo Domingo, which is home to one of the most important religious centers of the Incan era. Second, the Cusco Cathedral, a religious site which has approximately 300 paintings of the Cusco School of Art, among other expressions of art. Then, you will head to the outskirts of the city to visit 4 other major historical sites that have remained intact over the years and were used by the Incas for various activities; Sacsayhuaman, a majestic place, with impressive stonework, weighing more than 120 tons, carried by Incan workers from remote sites, where they performed the famous Inti Raymi or Festival of the Sun; Qenqo (labyrinth) which is one of the largest huacas (holy places) in the Cusco Region; Pucapucara, a site of military ruins, and finally Tambomachay, a place dedicated to the worship of water. End of tour and return to hotel. Night in hotel Cusco. Meals Included: Breakfast.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas.

After breakfast at the hotel we will pick you up from your hotel to begin our journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. First we will visit the colorful market in Pisac and then continue our journey to the fortress of Ollantaytambo, an Incan city that had religious, political and agricultural functions. Finally, we return to Cusco via Chinchero, a town dedicated to the cultivation of potatoes where we can enjoy a wonderful view of the Andes. End of tour. Return to the city of Cusco. Night in hotel in Cusco. Meals Included: Breakfast.

Day 3: Start Inca Trail - Cusco - Km 82 - Wayllabamba.

At 6:30 am. Our guide will pick you from your hotel and you will travel by bus to KM82, where the Inca Trail starts. Arriving around 11:00am, we will meet the team that will accompany us during our trek. This first day is considered a training stage. During the first few miles of the trail we will have a beautiful view of the snowy "Veronica", and walk along the left bank of the Vilcanota until we reach the point from where you will see a magnificent view of Llactapata (por Patallacta), where we have lunch and regain strength to continue on to Wayllabamba (3000 m.a.s.l), where we will spend our first night camping. Overnight at Camp. Meals Included: Snack, lunch and dinner.

Day 4: Wayllabamba - Pacaymayo.

After a hearty breakfast, we will begin our second day of hiking, perhaps the most difficult because we have to climb to the Wuarmihuañusca Pass (4,200 m.a.s.l.), where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the mountain ranges of the region. After lunch, we will descend into the valley of Pacaymayo (3800 m.a.s.l.) where we will set up our second camp. Overnight at Camp. Meals Included: Breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner.

Day 5: Pacaymayo - Wiñaywayna.

A short 30 minute walk from camp we will find the archaeological site of Runquracay. It is here that the "original" Inca Trail, which is paved in its entirety, begins. In certain places it gets up to 2 metres wide, and you can see the quality of Incan architecture. We also visit Sayacmarca, the beautiful ruins of what is thought to be an old Incan fortress. Then we visit the archaeological complex of Puyupatamarca, begin to descend through the dense vegetation of the forest, rich in flora and fauna. After two hours we arrive at Wiñaywayna (2700 m.a.s.l.), where we will spend our third night camping. Overnight at Camp. Meals Included: Breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner.

Day 6: Wiñaywayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco.

After breakfast, we start trekking to arrive to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate), known as the gateway to Machu Picchu, from where you have a panoramic view of the Sanctuary. On arrival at Machu Picchu, we will have a guided tour, visiting the main sites and monuments, such as the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. Then free time to walk around the city of Machu Pichu and then travel by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included). In the afternoon return to Cusco by train. Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to hotel. Night in hotel in Cusco. Meals Included: Breakfast.

Day 7: Free day in Cusco.

After breakfast you have the option visiting the Imperial City of Cusco without the group. The following are included in the tourist ticket, and do not incur and extra cost: - Koricancha Site Museum - Museo Garcilaso - Museum of Contemporary Art of the City of Cusco - Folk Art Museum Cusco - Monument to the Inca Pachacutec - Native Art Center Qosqo (Dance) Night in hotel in Cusco. Meals Included: Breakfast.

Day 8: Transfer to the airport.

According to your flight schedule, you will be picked from the hotel and driven to Velasco Astete International Airport. End of our services.
