Day 1: Salta, Quebrada de Humahuaca, Tilcara

Departure from Salta to the ‘Quebrada de Humahuaca’. After entering the province of Jujuy we start to go across the impressive Quebrada de Humahuaca until we arrive at Tilcara, where we stay, giving us time to walk around, being able to visit the ruins of Pucará. Night at Hosteria de Tilcara.

Day 2: Tilcara, Garganta del Diablo, beginning of the trekking

Departure by car towards Alfarcito, on our way we will pass the ‘Garganta del Diablo’, caused by the erosion of Guasamayo river. Arrival to Alfarcito. We start the climb. Our path took us gradually gaining height to the Abra de la Cruz. Night in camp. (B; BXL; D).

Day 3: Trekking through the Mountains

We continue our descent to Huara Huasi, we will have time for water supply, and then we continued our ascent. Once there, with an incredible view we will take our lunch. If time and weather conditions are good we may have the possibility to see some condors. After lunch we continue the trekking up to the barracks where we will make our camp site, near the town of Molulo. (B; BXL; D).

Day 4: El Molulo, San Lucas

After breakfast, we continue our trip to the Abra del Potrero, before beginning the steep ascent to ‘Peñon del Colorado’ we will have lunch and relax surrounded by a great landscape. A path will lead us between the green vegetation to the top of ‘El Peñon’, once there, we start descending towards the small town of San Lucas. Night in Camp. (B; BXL; D).

Day 5: San Lucas, Calilegua National Park, Salta

We left San Lucas back and continue down a path that runs along the riverside, in our journey we will see some fantastic waterfalls that leave us surprised by its splendor falling from this unique rock mass. After crossing river San Lucas our ascent begins to San Francisco, where our vehicle is waiting for us to come back to Salta. (B; BXL).
